This week sees 20 rugby league matches broadcasted from all across the world, here is how you can watch every single match including the heavyweight Super League tie between St Helens and Hull KR.
Thursday 28th August:
Canterbury Bulldogs kick off this week’s action as they host Penrith Panthers. After being no longer able to make the top four, Penrith have opted to rest a huge 16 players this week, as head coach Ivan Cleary looks to have the fittest team possible heading into the playoffs.
Leigh Leopards will then look to put pressure on the rest of the top four, as they host Castleford Tigers. A win for Adrian Lam’s men would elevate the Leopards to 3rd in the table, one point behind Wigan Warriors and one ahead of Saints and Leeds.
Friday 29th August:
An NRL double header sees NZ Warriors take on Parramatta Eels, before Melbourne Storm take on Sydney Roosters. A win for the Storm would put them level on points with Canberra Raiders, who will play the following day.
There are two Super League matches to pick from on Friday night, with the huge clash between St Helens and Hull KR the biggest matchup of the weekend. Saints have won their last four, and are arguably the form team of the competition. It will be another tough test for the Robins who have had two gruelling matches against Wigan and Leeds in the past two weeks.
At the same time, Warrington Wolves host Salford Red Devils, as Sam Burgess’ men look to bounce back after a defeat to Huddersfield Giants. Salford stuck in the fight with Leigh for over an hour last week, but just ran out of gas in the final quarter, where the Leopards pounced and took an easy victory.
Saturday 30th August:
Six matches from down under are available for UK fans to enjoy, however it is certainly one for the early risers. The action kicks off at 3:45am, with Canberra Raiders hosting Wests Tigers in a men’s and women’s double header, before St George Illawarra take on NZ Warriors in the NRLW. North Queensland then face Sydney Roosters in the women’s competition, prior to St George hosting Manly Sea Eagles and the Cowboys battling Brisbane Broncos.
In the afternoon, Super League hosts a triple header, with no TV clashes meaning all three are available to watch. First Leeds Rhinos travel to Hull FC, with Hull looking to keep their place in the top six with just four rounds to go.
Next, Wakefield Trinity take on Huddersfield Giants in another match with playoff ramifications. You would expect Trinity to emerge victorious from that one, making FC’s match earlier in the day almost must-win.
On Saturday night, we head to Perpignan for the final Super League match, as Catalans Dragons take on Wigan Warriors at the later time of 8pm.
Sunday 31st August:
Cronulla Sharks take on Newcastle Knights in a NRL and NRLW double header, with Brisbane and Canterbury Women also facing off.
The Dolphins look to make a late jump into the top eight with two rounds to go, as they take on bottom side Gold Coast Titans. That is the penultimate match of the weekend, as Gold Coast take on Parramatta in the NRLW to round off the action.
