Hull FC have confirmed that full-back Will Pryce will miss the rest of the season through injury but the Black and Whites have several options to replace the 23-year-old.
Most of those options are internal, however, Hull FC will be able to look externally as they can apply for salary cap exemption with the club able to recoup 25/27ths of the full-back’s wages.
Castleford Tigers are in a similar situation, albeit with 26/27ths of Blake Taaffe’s salary after his round one injury, whilst they can also recruit from overseas as they’ll be able to apply for quota exemption.
For Hull FC, they will have to either find a domestic replacement or utilise those already in their squad and there are a number of options.
Pryce went down in awkward fashion late on against Wigan Warriors and despite initial reports confirming that the knee was ‘stable’, the worst has now been confirmed with an ACL injury and a lengthy lay-off announced late on Monday evening.
Will Pryce replacements for Hull FC
Those internal replacements are likely headed up by either Logan Moy or Lloyd Kemp, both of whom are full-backs by trade though they lack experience.
Moy debuted and gained plenty of experience during the torrid 2024 season but his game time was limited in 2025 with most of his appearances coming before Will Pryce arrived, as the 20-year-old was loaned out to Doncaster later in the year.
Lloyd Kemp has seen his brother Callum play in the halves already this season, however, Lloyd has made three senior appearances with the most recent of those coming in September of 2025 in the Hull derby.
He played full-back that day and the highly-thought of youngster could be an option this year.
Whilst Kemp and Moy have limited experience in Super League, other internal options such as centres Davy Litten and Zak Hardaker offer far more experience.
Hardaker has played long periods of his career in the position but a more exciting option could be Litten, who scored a hat-trick from full-back against Salford in the Challenge Cup.
If either man slots into the one role, then off-season signing Arthur Romano would be their replacement at centre so it’s fair to say that Hull FC have plenty of options before they even consider looking to the market.
Hull FC can provide an injury update on Will Pryce.
Pryce left the field of play with injury in the closing stages of Saturday’s Betfred Super League Round 2 fixture against Wigan Warriors at the DW Stadium.
Following scans today, the club can confirm that Pryce has suffered a…
