George Williams will leave Warrington Wolves at the end of the season, with his next steps officially confirmed.
The half-back will move to the NRL, as has been rumoured over the 2025 campaign.
Where in particular he will go remains to be seen, however it has been widely reported that he will join Kristian Woolf’s Dolphins side for 2027.
Williams joined Warrington part-way through 2021, after returning home from his first stint in the NRL with Canberra Raiders.
The former Wigan man has made just over 100 appearances in a Warrington jersey, but the 2026 campaign will be his last in Primrose and Blue.
He represented and captained England once again at the end of last season, featuring in all three Ashes Test matches.
The club confirmed in their statement announcing his exit that Warrington have “…been in open and honest discussions with George throughout the process and supports his decision to pursue the next chapter of his career in Australia.”

“Myself and the Club have been very open with each other throughout, and I’m grateful for the understanding and backing they’ve shown me.
“My focus now is fully on this season. I’ll continue to give everything I have for the badge, the playing group and the fans. I’m determined to finish my time here on a high.”
