Rugby League News: French future, Wakefield new signing, Warrington and Leeds chase deal & five Hull recruits?

It has been a busy 24 hours with major stories breaking from Super League and the NRL.

Here is a round-up of everything that has happened…

Five signing Castleford and Hull should make

French future

At the weekend, Wigan Warriors star Bevan French was linked with a move to Hull FC. But Hull Live revealed the truth behind those rumours.

Warrington and Leeds in battle for signing

Yorkshire Live has reported that Warrington Wolves and Leeds Rhinos are in battle for a signing. Leeds apparently had been chasing him in 2021, with St Helens also thought to be interested last year. Read more here.

Meanwhile, one Warrington forward is set for the exit, according to the Yorkshire Live publication. One former Wire hooker has also died in his native Australia, Warrington Guardian has reported.

Trueman future

Hull FC legend Paul Cooke, in his Hull Daily Mail column, has talked about Castleford Tigers’ Jake Trueman.

Trueman has been linked with a move to Hull FC and Cooke addressed that issue. Read more here.

Bateman on exit

Wigan Warriors star John Bateman has opened up to Rugby League World about why he left Canberra Raiders and chose Wigan.

Bateman returned to Wigan at the end of 2020 following two seasons in Australia. Read more here.

Hardaker’s long-term destination

Serious About Rugby League has revealed four potential long-term destinations for Zak Hardaker.

The fullback has recently made the move to Leeds Rhinos after leaving Wigan Warriors. Read more here.

Wigan Warriors legend Shaun Edwards’ son made history over the weekend.

His son, James Small-Edwards, was elected to Westminster in a brilliant achievement. Read more here.

Eddie and Stevo on Smith

Eddie Hemmings and Mike ‘Stevo’ Stephenson have revealed on their podcast why they believe Tony Smith is leaving Hull KR.

Hull KR boss Tony Smith has made a surprise admission to Sky Sports on his future beyond Craven Park.

Former Leeds Rhinos star James Segeyaro has made a surprise switch, Fox Sports has revealed.
