A former Warrington Wolves hooker who has bounced around and had a trial with Super League club earlier this year has joined a new team.
Aiden Doolan has joined Cumbrian side Barrow Raiders on a deal until the end of the season having most recently played for Widnes Vikings.
Doolan joined the Vikings on trial at the start of the season and played for them once in each of the Challenge Cup and in the Championship, however, he would leave soon after that Championship appearance.
The 21-year-old joined Huddersfield Giants on trial but suffered a broken finger in what head coach Luke Robinson described as part of the club’s injury curse. That injury in late March ruled Doolan out for ‘four to five weeks’ but he’s now found a club for the remainder of the season.
Doolan had initially joined the Warrington Wolves academy after being a product of Widnes’ scholarship programme, however, he left Wire for an opportunity Down Under at the end of the 2023 campaign.

With plenty of experience among clubs, the 21-year-old doesn’t have loads of game experience and he’ll hope to earn it in the second-half of the season with Barrow who are still a chance at making the play-offs.
The Raiders currently sit fifth after an impressive win over Bradford Bulls last week and Doolan is straight into contention to play against Featherstone this weekend.
Confirming the deal, Barrow announced: “Young hooker Aiden Doolan has joined Barrow Raiders on a deal until the end of the season.
“Doolan previously represented Warrington Wolves at academy level, having come through the scholarship system at nearby Widnes Vikings.
“The arrival of Doolan provides further depth at hooker, with Josh Wood set to miss the club’s upcoming fixtures due to a hamstring injury.”
Speaking on his move, Doolan said: “I’m happy to have sorted coming to Barrow for the rest of the year.
“It’s a great opportunity for myself, and I will do my best to play a part in helping the club finish in a good spot, come the end of the season. Hopefully we can cement our place in the play-offs – that’s the ultimate aim.”
Barrow Raiders head coach Paul Crarey said: “Terry O’Connor recommended Aiden to us, and we decided to bring him in to try and maintain our play-off position.
“He has trained with us already and fitted in really well. His attitude is fantastic and Luke Broadbent has been a big help getting him settled at the club.”
Welcome to the club, Aiden Doolan!
