Former Super League journeyman Brad Dwyer will stay at Salford RLFC for the rest of the season after signing a permanent deal.
Dwyer, 33, has been with the phoenix club since its inception over the pre-season. He has made 13 appearances for the club in that time.
By far the Reds’ most experienced player, the former Leeds and Warrington man, among others, has combined his playing role with a coaching one, and has helped interim boss Dave Hewitt to lead the team in training.
There had been murmurs that Super League clubs were still interested in Dwyer’s services, and after he featured for Castleford Tigers on loan a fortnight ago, there were inklings he could be on the outer.
However, he has now confirmed his allegiance to the Ryan Brierley-led club, putting pen to paper on a permanent contract until the end of the season.

Speaking on his new deal, the hooker said: “It’s nice to give reassurance to the fans that I am sticking around for the rest of the year.
“To go and play lower Super League and where I am living wasn’t necessarily a massive ambition of mine, and I wanted to be a part of building something special.”
