After parting ways with Dean Muir earlier this week, Championship side North Wales Crusaders have already announced their new head coach.
Krisnan Inu will take the reigns, in what is his first senior coaching job since retiring as a player at the end of 2022.
His most recent role saw him part of the coaching staff at Salford Red Devils prior to their liquidation at the end of 2025. Inu was not part of the phoenix club set up by Mason Caton-Brown, and has been out of the game since the Red Devils’ downfall in December.
He will now take over from Muir at the Crusaders, as he looks to improve what has been a poor start to the season, winning twice in six matches.
Inu partners with North Wales’ Head of Rugby Operations Kylie Leuluai at the club, with their target of reaching the play-offs still a goal they firmly believe they can achieve.
As a player, Inu had spells with New Zealand Warriors, Parramatta Eels and Canterbury Bulldogs in the NRL, before moving to Super League in 2015 and spending time at Catalans Dragons, Widnes Vikings, Salford and Leigh.

On his appointment, Inu revealed: “I’d like to express my sincere appreciation to the club for the opportunity to help guide the team through this season.
“I am fully committed to contributing in every possible way to ensure we reach the level we know we are capable of, with the clear objective of pushing for the playoffs as we approach the latter stages of the campaign.
“I am very much looking forward to meeting the players, staff, and supporters, and to getting started.”
Leuluai added: “I’m pleased to see Kris joining the club as a coach.
“Having known him as a player, teammate, and opponent, I’ve seen first-hand the experience, professionalism, and insight he brings to the game.
“Kris has a wealth of experience both as a player and a coach, and I’m confident he will be a valuable asset to the club. I look forward to building a strong working relationship with him and striving to achieve success together.”
