Former Hull FC and Castleford Tigers man makes Championship loan switch

Two overseas players, including a former Hull FC and Castleford Tigers back, have made a loan switch ahead of this weekend’s games.

Outside back Bureta Faraimo and hooker Isaac Misky have found game time hard to come by at parent club Doncaster, with Misky’s bench appearance in round two the only game either man has played for the Dons in 2026.

As such, they’ve been allowed to seek an opportunity elsewhere and that’s seen them make the switch to Leeds-based club Hunslet RLFC, who sit near the foot of the Championship table.

The Parksiders have lost both of their league games this season and also crashed out of the Challenge Cup at the hands of Super League side Huddersfield Giants.

Ahead of Sunday’s game against Rochdale Hornets, the club have bolstered their squad with the loan addition of both Faraimo and Misky with both men ‘straight into contention’ for that game.

Ex-Hull FC man makes loan switch

Of the two, Faraimo is the man who will be more familiar with English rugby league fans as the 35-year-old winger previously spent six seasons in Super League, four at Hull FC and two at Castleford Tigers.

During his time at Hull FC, Faraimo actually scored at quite a consistent rate with the winger ending his spell at the MKM Stadium in 2021 with almost a try every other game and a tally of 43 in 87 games.

His debut season in 2018 was by far his most productive with Faraimo scoring 19 in 28 as Hull FC made the play-offs. A switch to Castleford followed before his Doncaster move with 2024 a strong campaign where he scored 14 in 18 though the winger has only played six times since then.

As for Misky, the hooker made the move to England ahead of last season and despite playing 22 games in 2025, he’s played just once this year with Greg Burns and Connor Jones seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order.

Announcing the loan move, Hunslet said: “Hunslet RLFC are pleased to announce the loan signings of Isaac Misky and Bureta Faraimo from Doncaster RLFC.

“The New Zealand born pair who have joined the Parksiders on an initial week loan trained with the squad last night and will go straight into contention for this weekend.”
