Former Huddersfield Giants man finds new club down under after mid-season release

Huddersfield Giants went through injury hell in 2025, losing key members of their squad for vital parts of the season.

That meant, on a selection front, they were down to the bare bones, and those decisions were made even harder when Jack Murchie was released from the club half way through the year.

Playing a total of 17 games, Murchie was another who’s time at the Accu Stadium was riddled with injury since his arrival prior to the 2024 season.

His final game was in March, but his exit didn’t come until June, where he returned to Australia.

For the first time since he cut ties with Luke Robinson’s side, Murchie has now found a new club, and will ply his trade in the Aussie regional leagues.

Featuring in the Macarthur Conference League, a community league based in New South Wales, the 28-year-old will now feature for the Thirlmere Tahmoor Roosters, and will link up with former Canberra Raiders teammates Kye Madden and Matt Scott at the club.

Murchie has heaps of experience, and represented both Australia and New South Wales at junior representative level.

Prior to signing with Huddersfield, he made 45 NRL appearances across three different clubs, with Brad Arthur and the Parramatta Eels being his final NRL outfit.
