With the Challenge Cup Final on the horizon, rugby league fans have been sharing their thoughts on who they think will win the Lance Todd Trophy in 2025.
Whilst Hull KR are odds-on favourites to win the Challenge Cup, Warrington Wolves fans are cautiously optimistic as they have much more finals experience than Rovers.
However, Rovers have been undeniably the best team this season, so many feel that it’s theirs to lose.
With big-game players across both teams, especially following the team news, we asked our followers who they think will win the Lance Todd Trophy following the Challenge Cup final.
The majority suggested that halfbacks or fullbacks from the winning side are the most likely, but some fans added a couple of unsung heroes for both sides, who have both had standout seasons for their respective teams.
Here are some of the best comments from our Facebook page and across social media.
Rugby league fans on who’s taking the Lance Todd Trophy
Ian Flanagan: It won’t be anyone in a blue and yellow shirt. I’ll predict that it will be one of the following: Burgess, Lewis, Minchella, Litten, May, Broadbent. It could be any of the Rovers squad.
Chris McWatt: Can’t see Warrington winning, so your favourites have to be Mikey or Jez. Outside chance of Broadbent, maybe Batch.
Andy Wiles: Mikey or Hiku, Broadbent in with a shout? But we play as a unit, so it could be anyone!
Craig R Steele: Jez Litten went from half a game, called to step up when needed, now playing whole games and improved week on week. Pound for pound, one of the best defensive players in the league.
Alison Houldridge: Peta Hiku deserves it 100%. The unsung hero of Hull KR.
Paul Hugh McGuigan: People are probably gonna say Lewis, but I’m gonna go off the cuff and say Peta Hiku.
Derek Wrench: Outsider, Ben Currie. Playing well.
Steven Shearman:Â George Williams. Big game player.
Chris James Hill: Williams back from injury with a masterclass.
Mal Mason:Â Lewis if KR win and Dufty if Wire win.
Natasha Chloe Friar:Â It’ll be Sneyd or Lewis, depending on which team wins.
