Every season, when the Challenge Cup Finals day comes around, rugby league fans come together to celebrate the game at Wembley.
However, for the two teams in the men’s final, there’s a major trophy at stake.
Hull KR go into the game as the league’s best side this season, but with the pressure of winning their first Challenge Cup trophy since 1980, they go into the tie as overwhelming favourites.
It’s longstanding rugby league knowledge that Warrington Wolves are the nearly-men, but lifted the trophy back in 2019, their ninth win in the competition.
Rugby league fans have taken to social media to share which team they think will be going home with the trophy.
Rugby league fans share which side they think will win the Challenge Cup Final
Vanessa Gray: The pressure is on KR, and if things start going against them, will they be able to keep their cool? Think Warrington by 2, Sneyd to win his 3rd Lance Todd.
Antony Isherwood: Wire has experience of being the underdogs and winning the Challenge Cup finals, which Hull KR is lacking in. Having said that, Hull KR have had a gleaming season so far, so my honest opinion is it’s genuinely hard to call this one. Either way, it’s gonna be a class game to watch. My biased heart is with Wire to win, but think it’ll be very close (possibly one point in it – drop goal).
Martin Atkinson: Well, I am hoping Hull KR will win. It’s been so long, and to be honest, the KR fans and the club deserve it. Good luck to the Robins, get that cup back to Hull. From an FC fan.
Vic Moor: As someone who was at Wembley in 1980 when the Robins won and has lived in Sydney for over 40 years, come on you Reds!
John Curless: I can see anything but a Rovers win, from a Wigan supporter.
Stephen Heyes: KR will batter Wire, by far the best team in Super League at the minute, and fair play to them. Saints fan.
Bill Pops Holden: There is a saying in Rugby League that ‘this is Warrington’s year’, and I think with Williams playing, it just might be their year.
Malcolm Rosenberg: It’s all on the day, but hopefully, it’ll be the Robins.
David Fairclough: Hope it’s a great game, I think KR might just sneak it.
Gary James: Well, if Rovers don’t win a trophy this year, we never will. I’ve been going to Craven Park since I was a kid in the 60s, and have seen our glory years late 70s/early 80s, and this is the best team since then. Can’t wait for Saturday, but my stomach is turning over at the thought of it.
Peter Ratcliffe: Wire would need their full team out and really on it. Too many out, I think.
David Richardson: Sneyd’s goals could make a difference if Mikey has a kicking nightmare. I just hope Rovers don’t give them too many chances. I know Wembley can be a pressure pot, and affect a lot of teams, but look at Rovers points against. I just hope the bookies have got it right, like they usually do.
