A former Wakefield Trinity prop has made a Championship switch just two weeks into the season, swapping Sheffield Eagles for Doncaster RLFC.
Titus Gwaze will make the move in a switch that sees him go between two South Yorkshire clubs.
The Zimbabwe-born loose forward has made over 100 appearances in the second tier, and also featured for Trinity in Super League between 2019 and 2020.
At 26, he has spent time at Oldham, London Broncos and Halifax, but he has been with the Eagles for the past three seasons – playing there 75 times.
Gwaze will bolster the Dons’ forward pack, though his move to the club came after a switch elsewhere fell through.
He was due to join Featherstone Rovers for the upcoming campaign, but that plan ended when the Rovers were denied entry to the Championship.
As a result, he went on to pen a deal with Doncaster, and that move has now been finalised.

Ex-Wakefield Trinity man makes Championship switch
Commenting on his arrival at the Eco-Power Stadium, Gwaze is delighted to join the club that he feels will go well this term.
He said: “There’s a really good team that’s been put together here. I spoke to Richard [Horne, head coach] and pretty much everything he said won me over compared to everybody else.
“I only felt right to come over here. I just want to be part of a team with a winning mentality.”
The Dons boss, Horne, added: “Titus fits the player type that we want at the club. He’s got a really good work-rate and you could leave him out there for 80 minutes – he used to do it for Sheffield week in, week out.
“Hopefully we can give him a bit of rest as well with the other boys we’ve got but it lets us have shorter stints with our big boys, Gadwin [Springer] and Pauli [Pauli] to have more impact. And then you’ve got Titus doing all the graft.”
