Another Championship club have confirmed their 2026 squad numbers with former Super League faces, including from Salford and Leeds Rhinos, headlining the squad.
Sheffield Eagles are one of the most exciting sides to watch ahead of the 2026 Championship season with the club looking to bounce back after a poor 2025.
That poor 2025 has earned them a somewhat easier fixture list though as the pendulum style system pits teams against those around their previous placings, and with the Eagles finishing 11th last year, it makes for an easier draw on paper this year.
Not only that but the fact they have signed some exciting talents with former Salford Red Devils and Leeds Rhinos man Kai Morgan among them and set to feature prominently, having been handed the number six.
Morgan looks set to be the starting half alongside another former Leeds Rhinos man, Jordan Lilley, with Lilley leaving Bradford at the end of the 2025 campaign and now handed the number seven.
Hooker Corey Johnson, handed the number nine, is another former Leeds Rhinos man in the spine.
Sheffield Eagles confirm squad numbers for 2026
The talent doesn’t end there though with Matty Marsh handed the number one shirt and two centre signings also added to the back line in Josh Hodson, formerly of Castleford Tigers, and Kieran Gill, who lit up the Championship with Bradford Bulls.
Ex-York man Conor Fitzsimmons is one of the starting props alongside Martyn Reilly with Joel Farrell and Jack Bussey also in the pack.
Former Hull KR hooker Reiss Butterworth is the club’s number 14 whilst ex-Super League stalwart George Griffin takes the 15 shirt. Another former Hull KR youngster, Lennie Ellis, takes number 18.
With uncertainty over Salford Red Devils and Featherstone Rovers, Sheffield could fly up on the outside as one of the teams to really impress in the new Championship competition, particularly with a coach such as Craig Lingard in charge.
