Former Hull FC, St Helens and Warrington Wolves man Andre Savelio has joined up with League One side Goole Vikings on loan.
Savelio walked away from life as a full-time athlete at the end of last season after leaving Huddersfield Giants for health reasons and joined Championship outfit Doncaster. However, his time in South Yorkshire has not gone to plan so far, making just one appearance under head coach Richard Horne.
As a result, he has made the loan switch to Goole, where he will be playing under his former Hull teammate Scott Taylor, in the hope of picking up some valuable minutes in League One. Goole have struggled for traction in their first season in the league, having won just two league games all season.
But, the addition of Savelio for a short amount of time might just provide the boost they need to kick on. The club have also signed Jason Tali from the Dons, too, with the former Papua New Guinea international joining Savelio in making the short move down the M18.

“Both players are a great boost for us, bringing some quality, experience and size to our squad – which we have been looking for,” Goole boss Taylor told the club website.
“It is a great opportunity for both of them to get some important minutes under their belts, and will help some of our younger, less experienced lads who can see what they are about.
“Both are a real handful, they can be unplayable on their day. Andre is someone we know well and has been working hard on his fitness after injury, so this will be another good step forward for him.
“Jason is proven at this level and has always made an impact. He will bring invaluable experience for us and some strike out wide, which will benefit us.
“We are looking forward to welcoming them both into camp and we will see what they are like before we name our squad this week.”
