Wakefield Trinity have re-signed Isaiah Vagana on a new five-year deal, their longest-contracted player, but who holds that record for every Super League club?
Trinity announced Vagana’s new deal on Friday night with the son of Bradford legend Joe inking a new five-year deal, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2031 season.
With a contract of that length, he stands alone as the longest-contracted player at Wakefield Trinity but he is not alone in having a deal that keeps him in Super League until the end of 2031.
Whilst some clubs have plenty of players tied down long-term, others have few signed up beyond the end of next season, with another club not believed to have anyone contracted beyond the end of 2027.
It’s also worth noting that plenty of contracts in Super League are not public information, particularly for players who have emerged out of academy systems, but below are the players tied to the longest contracts at each respective club.

Every Super League club’s longest contract
Bradford Bulls – Sam Eseh (2029)
For the Bulls it’s one of their 2027 signings who boasts the longest deal with Wigan Warriors prop Sam Eseh signed on a three-year deal at Odsal.
Castleford Tigers – Jenson Windley (2030)
Castleford youngster Jenson Windley hasn’t played many games for the Tigers yet but the club clearly like what they see with Windley tied down for four more years after this one, having signed a new deal last August.
Catalans Dragons – Jesse Arthars, Romain Navarrate and Tyson Gamble (all 2028)
Les Dracs have three players tied to the end of the 2028 season, two of whom are incoming recruits for 2027 in NRL duo Jesse Arthars and Tyson Gamble.
Huddersfield Giants – Fenton Rogers and George Flanagan (both 2029)
Young prop Fenton Rogers and full-back George Flanagan are Huddersfield’s longest-contracted players with the duo tied down until the end of the 2029 season.
Hull FC – Lewis Martin (2030)
The Black and Whites made a big splash when re-signing Lewis Martin to a five-year deal ahead of the 2026 season following his impressive 2025 where he finished as the top try scorer in Super League.
Hull KR – Mikey Lewis (2030)
Amid NRL interest, Hull KR move to sign Mikey Lewis down to a long-term contract with the former Man of Steel set for a further four years at Craven Park beyond the end of this season.
Leeds Rhinos – Ash Handley, Dylan Walker, Jake Connor, Keenan Palasia, Max Simpson, Morgan Gannon and Riley Lumb (all 2029)
Leeds Rhinos don’t have anyone contracted for 2030 or 2031 but they have seven players signed on for 2029, including new recruit Dylan Walker and the returning Morgan Gannon.
Leigh Leopards – Edwin Ipape (2031)
Ediwn Ipape, like Vagana, is signed until the end of 2031 but what makes his deal more impressive is that he inked it back in early 2025 making it a six-year extension. The club also made sure no NRL clause was included though Adrian Lam admitted he expects more NRL interest to come.
St Helens – Joe Shorrocks, Lewis Murphy, Matty Lees and Tristan Sailor (all 2029)
Saints did have four players contracted to 2029 but it’s been confirmed that Matty Lees will depart for the NRL in 2028, meaning Joe Shorrocks, Lewis Murphy and Tristan Sailor are their longest-contracted players.
Toulouse Olympique – Olly Ashall-Bott (2030)
The Olympians have been re-signing the vast majority of their squad in recent weeks but none have signed a deal as long as Olly Ashall-Bott, who will remain in France for the next four years.
Wakefield Trinity – Isaiah Vagana (2031)
The latest of these long-term deals, Vagana even admitted that he was caught off guard by how long his new contract offer was.
Warrington Wolves – Ewan Irwin and Josh Thewlis (both 2030)
No surprise to see Ewan Irwin, one of the best young talents in Super League, on this list with the playmaker signing a deal that helped stave off NRL interest.
Wigan Warriors – Harry Smith, Junior Nsemba, Oliver Partington and Tom Forber (all 2030)
There’s no public information on Jack Farrimond’s contract but should Wigan offer him a new one then expect it to be as long as, or perhaps longer than this quartet who are tied down until 2030.
York Knights – Jack Brown, Kieran Buchanan, Oli Field, Paul McShane, Paul Vaughan and Xavier Va’a (all 2027)
The Knights have very few players contracted for next year and no one contracted beyond then but among the few they do have are veterans Paul Vaughan and Paul McShane, though the latter hasn’t yet decided if he will play on.
