Early Hull FC v Wakefield Trinity team news with 12 players ruled out and nine in doubt

Friday night will see Hull FC look to earn back-to-back home wins when they take on Wakefield Trinity, in what is a hugely important game for both sides given their positions in the table.

FC are currently ninth, and sit eight points off the play-off spots. A top six finish now seems very unlikely, but not impossible.

To do so, you would expect them to need to win just about every other game this season, which, given their first half of 2026, seems a foregone conclusion.

Wakefield, meanwhile, sit in fifth, and are one of four teams on 18 points. After a hefty defeat to Wigan Warriors last time out, Daryl Powell’s side will be looking for a response. Another defeat here could put them in real danger of falling out of the six, especially with Leigh Leopards in tremendous form and hot on the tails of the play-off places.

Ahead of Friday’s clash, there is a plenty of early team news to get through, with injuries and suspensions affecting both sides before the ball has even been kicked.

Prior to the 21-man squads being announced tomorrow, here is the lowdown of what we already know, with a total of 12 players being ruled out and nine in doubt at this stage.

Hull FC v Wakefield Trinity ‘outs and doubts’

Hull FC:

Starting with the home side, a few players we know won’t play are full-back Will Pryce (ACL), John Asiata (hamstring), Sam Lisone (bicep), Arthur Romano (syndesmosis), Brad Fash (MCL), Ligi Sao (shoulder) and Connor Bailey (clavicle).

Yusuf Aydin and Roman Dawson are also both suspended, after the pair were issued long-term bans for incidents in Super League and reserves action respectively.

FC recently released a statement in which it claimed that over half of their salary cap was sat on the sidelines, and with the injuries on show, it’s hard to disagree.

In addition to those players ruled out, interim boss Andy Last will be hoping that some players make the matchday squad, and it would be a huge boost if at least some of them could.

Davy Litten, Zak Hardaker and Lewis Martin all missed the weekend’s win over Huddersfield, whilst Aidan Sezer and Lloyd Kemp both had muscle tightness problems post-match, with Sezer needing to be substituted before the game was over.

James Bell is likely to miss this week, but is not fully ruled out. Regardless, it is a hugely testing time for Last and his side, who need some good luck on the injury front and quickly.

Wakefield Trinity:

Trinity suffered some key blows to their backs in the win over Hull KR a fortnight ago, and their squad was weakened further in the loss to Wigan.

At present, three of their squad numbers one to seven are sidelined, with those being Oliver Pratt, Corey Hall and Mason Lino.

Pratt is set for an eight-week spell on the sidelines, whilst Hall and Lino are both facing around six weeks out.

One boost for Trinity is that Jazz Tevaga is back available after suspension, but players in doubt are Lachlan Walmsley, who is a long-term absentee, Josh Rouke and Jayden Myers, who went off injured against the Warriors. It leaves real question marks over the depth of Powell’s backs.
