Departing Leeds Rhinos man Sam Lisone sends explicit message to Shaun Wane over Jake Connor omission

Departing Leeds Rhinos man Sam Lisone has sent an explicit and blunt message to England head coach Shaun Wane after their Ashes defeat.

England have lost the second Ashes Test 14-4, meaning that the series has officially been won by Australia before the third Test at Leeds Rhinos’ Headingley stadium.

In a much-improved performance, England went into the break level with Australia but two quickfire tries in the second half saw Australia claim the win.

England were far flatter in the second half with their creative outlets not delivering. Mikey Lewis, named on the bench this week, wasn’t utilised until the 70th minute and even then it was at hooker, instead of in the halves where George Williams didn’t have his best game.

The pre-Ashes talk was about whether Man of Steel Jake Connor of Leeds Rhinos would be selected and now one of Connor’s departing teammates has made his feelings clear that he should have been.

Leeds Rhinos man tears into Shaun Wane over Jake Connor snub

Taking to Instagram, Sam Lisone has sent a blunt and explicit message to Shaun Wane about his decision to snub Connor.

Posting on his story, the Hull FC signing said: “Pick Jake Connor you soft fat ***** lad Shaun Wane.”

Serious About Rugby League have starred one of those words out due to its offensive nature but the rest of the words make Lisone’s feelings clear.

In Test one, Mikey Lewis played at seven with Williams at six, whereas it was Harry Smith at seven in the second Test as Williams retained his position.

Connor could have played either role with Lisone clearly backing his former teammate to play at least one of those positions.

Shaun Wane had made five changes to his squad for the second game with three of the four spine players altered, with captain Williams the only man to retain his place.

Serious About Rugby League has launched a brand new podcast which can be watched in full on our YouTube channel here.

Well Shaun wane would pick 2 players that haven’t done anything all season and wane saying that man of steel doesn’t mean anything to him Jake Connor is 100 time a better player than Smith or Williams and not to pick Connor absolutely a fat grey haired wanker who thinks that smith and Williams are better than Connor well it says something bout his coaching skills on the international level then

Waney knows exactly what he’s doing. You’re all blaming Waney, instead of us just not being anywhere good enough. You family game fans are so annoying.

I wouldn’t have had Williams in the squad, I’d have gone with Connor at fullback, Lewis at 6, Smith at 7, Brimson on the bench. Then to change things up you could bring Brimson on at fullback, put Connor to 6, Lewis to hooker, spell him with Litten. Lewis, Smith, and Connor all had great seasons, just what did George Williams do to justify selection? He was anonymous in a seriously underperforming team. “He has credit in the Bank”? So do I, but they’re not making me Chair of the Bank of England! Sam Lisone certainly didn’t hold back, but he’s out on the park seeing who’s making a difference, who is bringing the quality, who has the skill and current form to take it to the Australians, and at the moment that isn’t George Williams, but of the roughly 9,000,000 eligible English males there are two guaranteed to be written down on an England team sheet if they are vaguely capable of playing, George Williams and Matty Ashton, simply because they “have credit in the bank?” with Shaun Wane, that’s ridiculous!

Sack Wane, bring in a new coaching team. The big question is who to get?
