Championship star reported missing by wife as she issues plea for help

Championship player Brandon Moore reported missing

Championship player Brandon Moore has been reported missing by his wife, as the Batley Bulldogs hooker has not been seen since late Friday evening.

His wife, Mara, has posted a plea on Facebook, urging those in the rugby league family to share any information and to help in her search for him.

Moore was originally named in Batley’s 21-man squad to face Toulouse Olympique today, but wasn’t named in the matchday squad, a game that kicked off at 3:00pm on Saturday.

In the post, she writes: “If anyone has seen Brandon Moore, can you please message me?

I usually wouldn’t ever post anything on here like this, but family and friends haven’t seen or heard of him and hoping maybe someone’s seen sightings of him and can message me? I have a 7 week old baby at home and 2 others, so I can’t go hunting myself, other than a car ride.

Police contacted, been missing approx 14 hours now. Thank you.”

Moore joined the Bulldogs at the start of 2024, and the 28-year-old has been a regular since moving from Halifax Panthers, playing 45 games for the West Yorkshire club and scoring six tries.

He spent eight years with the Panthers, captaining them in the 1895 Cup final win back in 2023, before moving to Batley a season later.

Moore made 134 games for Championship side Halifax and scored 21 tries in those eight years after leaving the Castleford Tigers academy system in 2016.

He also had a loan spell to Huddersfield Giants in 2020, featuring in four games for them towards the back end of the season.

Whilst Moore was born in Cumbria, he and his family now reside in the Castleford area.

His wife’s post has been shared over 2,100 times, with friends, family, former teammates and people from across the rugby league community trying to raise awareness for Moore’s whereabouts.
