Championship new boys make fourth signing for 2026 as Super League youngster joins

Goole Vikings have announced the signing of a Super League youngster, in what is their fourth addition for 2026.

The Vikings, led by former Hull FC man Scott Taylor, are becoming renowned for signing young talent from Super League academies that can go on to develop at the club before either moving on to pastures new or staying at the club and becoming one of the key players.

Following the signing of Leeds Rhinos youngster Shane Tuohey last month, Goole have once again gone shopping at academy level, and have brought a Castleford Tigers starlet to the club.

Brad Bullock has only recently turned 18, but has been a prominent member of the Tigers’ reserve squad this year. The front rower never managed to make a first team appearance at the West Yorkshire side, but will hope to follow the likes of Joe Phillips, who joined Goole at the start of 2025 and ended the year with a senior contract at Hull FC.

Speaking on the move that will see him play Championship rugby next year, he said: “When I heard about the opportunity to have a meeting with Goole, I jumped at the chance. The things I’ve heard about the club and the direction they’re going in, and then meeting with James and Scott – I knew straight away this is where I want to be.

“I know it’s a big challenge for me and the step up to the Championship will be huge, but I’m looking forward to working with Scott and the senior players on that transition. Hopefully, I can grab my chance when it comes. I can’t wait to get started and be part of this club’s growth.”

Vikings coach, Taylor, said: “Part of the club’s philosophy since day one has been to secure young talent from across the region and a little further afield – players who have the raw ingredients we feel can develop into first-teamers and help them progress their careers.

“Brad fits the bill. He lives just twenty minutes up the road, has a fantastic attitude, is driven to achieve what he has his heart set on, and his enthusiasm for the opportunity here really caught our eye.
