A former Hull KR and Castleford Tigers forward has signed with a Championship club after almost a year out of the game.
Doncaster RLFC sit eighth in the second tier, but are just one point away from fifth placed Halifax Panthers. They have now decided to strengthen their forward pack, which already hosts a number of ex-Super League talents.
Suaia Matagi, Andre Savelio and Pauli Pauli are just a few of the first team starters in the Dons pack, and they have now bolstered their side with former Hull KR and Castleford Tigers man Luis Johnson.
Johnson has been out for just under a year with injury, after completing rehab with the Tigers in a bid to get back on the field.

Starting his career at Warrington Wolves, he featured nine times for their first time and has also had stints with Rochdale, Widnes, Dewsbury and Featherstone.
He joined the Robins on loan in 2019, before joining permanently in 2021. He then moved to Castleford in 2023, and played 13 times for the Tigers, scoring one try.
His last match was in August last year, in a 28-6 defeat to the Wolves.
Now he is ready to return, as the Dons look to start a playoff push and enter the top six.
He spoke on the club’s social media, saying: “Doncaster is the perfect fit for me, so I’m looking forward to it. It’s been very welcoming. I spoke to the coach, and he’s on board with what I want to do, and I’m on board with what he wants to do as well.”
He added: “”Hopefully I can get a few games and experience what it’s like to be here. I’m just really keen to play with the boys because it’s been a year, so I’m just very keen.”
He is in contention to make his Doncaster debut this Sunday, as they take on Batley Bulldogs. The Dons have a tough run-in, playing Barrow, Featherstone and Halifax, who are all within one point of each other, but only two playoff spots available.
