Championship club land Warrington Wolves youngster as 2026 recruitment continues

Championship

Championship side, Goole Vikings, have announced the signing of a Warrington Wolves youngster, as their recruitment drive for 2026 continues.

The Vikings have made a habit this off-season of bringing in young talents from Super League clubs in the hope that they develop in the club’s system and go on to become established first team players.

Goole have already brought in Leeds Rhinos youngster Shane Tuohey, Castleford Tigers prospect Leroy Ncube and former Hull FC man Nick Staveley ahead of next year, as they all hope to make their mark in the revamped Championship season.

Their latest signing comes from the Wolves, with Academy Grand Final winner, Oliver Morgan, joining Scott Taylor’s side.

The young hooker featured from the bench in Warringt0n’s U18’s Grand Final victory, and was one of four first-half try scorers.

Morgan was also part of the club’s academy tour of Australia, and featured in the final game of the tour against Gold Coast Titans.

An Lancashire representative in the Academy Origin series, Morgan is full of potential, with Goole hoping to turn that into a consistent starting player.

Giving his first words since joining the club, he said: “I’m really looking forward to the challenge with the Vikings and playing regularly in the Championship. I think it’s exactly the challenge I need at this stage in my career.

“I’ve been really impressed with the club and I’m very grateful for the opportunity they’ve given me. There are some great people here from top to bottom – there’s a really positive feel around the place and it’s a great set of lads to be part of.

“I hope I can bring my best to the team and help us turn a few heads this season.”
