Challenge Cup Third Round sees impressive attendance figures as Wigan Warriors and St Helens boast top crowds

All 16 games from the third round of the Challenge Cup have concluded and some impressive attendances have been recorded throughout.

Wigan Warriors 83-0 victory topped the third round attendance charts, as over 4,200 fans turned up to see a scoreline of that nature be produced on a rugby league field.

Only one other fixture had an attendance of 4,000+, and that was St Helens’ trip to Cumbria to face Workington Town on Friday night.

Some other ties provided healthy crowds though, and the increase in attendances show that, whilst the on-field action may not be as competitive as some would like, the off-field financial gain that the lower league clubs overarch that, in what is a huge benefit for the game.

Here is a full-run down of each confirmed attendance figure from this weekend’s games. However, five of the 16 matches don’t yet have official crowd numbers, so those will be added as and when they are confirmed.
