Steve McNamara and Daryl Powell have named their respective 21-man squads ahead of this week’s clash between Catalans Dragons and Wakefield Trinity at the Stade Gilbert Brutus.
The two sides share the same record in Super League, having won four and lost four of their opening eight games and they both know that a win on Saturday could potentially see them move into the top six, should there be a points difference swing.
Of the two, Catalans are probably the form side having won four of their last five Super League games, beating Leeds Rhinos, Castleford Tigers, Huddersfield Giants and Salford Red Devils along the way.
Wakefield come into the game on the back of a win over local rivals Castleford Tigers too though and the manner of that dramatic win will have them riding high in confidence.
Ky Rodwell is the only man to drop out for the West Yorkshire outfit with the prop picking up an injury that will see him ruled out for a period of the season. He’s replaced in the squad by Jayden Myers, who joined Trinity from Bradford Bulls in December.
Catalans have made two changes with the experience of Elliott Whitehead and Nick Cotric returning to the fold. Whitehead has served a two-game ban for his actions in the Challenge Cup win over Salford earlier this month.
Clement Martin and Leo Darrelatour are the pair who make way for McNamara.
