Salford Red Devils boss Paul Rowley has named an 18-man squad ahead of Saturday’s clash with Catalans Dragons. The Red Devils are hunting for their second win of the Super League season and they make the journey to Perpignan without a host of senior first-teamers.
Deon Cross is still absent amid speculation that he will be joining St Helens in the not too distant future. He has missed training this week and isn’t involved in the squad to face the Dragons. Chris Atkin also misses out alongside Shane Wright and Sam Davis.
Jamie Pye, Josh Wagstaffe and Jimmy Shields are the other men to make way this week, with two debutants stepping into the Salford fray.
Harvey Makin joined the club from Wigan Warriors on loan earlier this week and he’ll be involved alongside his Cherry and Whites teammate Tiaki Chan. Jake Thewlis is also set to play in the south of France after joining temporarily from Warrington Wolves. Nathan Connell has also come back into the mix.
Steve McNamara has made two changes to his Catalans squad with Jordan Dezaria joining Castleford Tigers on loan and Arthur Romano also dropping out.
Romain Navarrete comes back into the Dragons fold though after missing the Dragons last three games. Clement Martin is also back in McNamara’s squad.
