Catalans Dragons have been dealt a huge blow prior to their clash with Leigh Leopards.
Tommy Makinson has suffered a knee injury in the warm-up, and he will not feature in tonight’s game.
The St Helens legend is the most experience Super League player in the Dragons’ back line, and he will be a major miss for Joel Tomkins’ side.
Makinson has scored three tries in four matches in 2026, the second highest behind half-back Toby Sexton.
The 34-year-old will be replaced by youngster, Leo Darrelatour, who makes just his ninth Super League appearance, and the first of the season.
Darrelatour is an international winger, however, and made his France debut in 2025, scoring a try in a World Cup qualifying match against Jamaica.
Catalans’ opposite wing is also not first choice, with Phoenix Laulu-Togagae filling in for the injured Manase Kaho. Josh Simm was given the opportunity to start the season, but he missed out this evening.
