Wigan Warriors will look to bounce back against Castleford Tigers on Saturday night and the squads for both clubs have been confirmed.
It’s the second week in a row that Matt Peet’s side travel to West Yorkshire for an 8:00 pm kick-off and once again they’re heavily fancied. The odds were upset last week though as Wakefield Trinity won 16-10 against a sub-par Wigan.
This week, Wigan will be without star man Bevan French with Warriors’ head coach Peet confirming that the 2023 Man of Steel has suffered a calf injury.
Whilst Wigan will be without a key overseas player, Castleford are looking to introduce a new one having signed former NRL forward Joe Stimson to an 18-month deal with immediate effect.
Castleford were humbled at home last week by Super League leaders Hull KR and they’ll hope to out in a more competitive display against second-place Wigan Warriors.
Castleford Tigers team news
There had been a suggestion that Tex Hoy could return this week but the full-back doesn’t, however, youngster Fletcher Rooney is named after his long layoff with a quadriceps injury.
Overseas signing Joe Stimson is also named as well with Danny McGuire’s side slowly getting close to full-strength.
Cain Robb, who had been loaned to Salford and failed a HIA, and Hugo Salabio both drop out to make way for Rooney and Stimson.

Wigan Warriors team news
Matt Peet makes just one change and it is a big one as Bevan French drops out, as expected, but Christian Wade is named for the first time since crossing codes.
Wade has impressed in the reserves and earned his shot in the 21-man squad. Whilst he might not feature, it’s a clear sign he is closing in on a debut.
There had been concerns that Liam Marshall would drop out of the squad due to injury but he’s named with the likes of Wade and youngster Jacob Douglas the obvious replacements.
Wigan Warriors 21-man squad: Jai Field, Adam Keighran, Jake Wardle, Liam Marshall, Harry Smith, Ethan Havard, Brad O’Neill, Luke Thompson, Junior Nsemba, Liam Farrell, Kaide Ellis, Patrick Mago, Liam Byrne, Kruise Leeming, Tyler Dupree, Harvie Hill, Zach Eckersley, Tom Forber, Jack Farrimond, Jacob Douglas, Christian Wade
