Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Trinity have confirmed their 21-man squads for Sunday’s Rivals Round clash.
The Tigers go into the game after securing their second home win of the season, defeating Bradford Bulls 40-28 last time out. It was undoubtedly the best performance the side have produced in the Ryan Carr era, and will be looking to continue that form against their local rivals.
Wakefield meanwhile have won the last three league games in a row, and another victory on Sunday would make it their longest win streak in the top flight since August 2022.
Those wins have come despite head coach Daryl Powell insisting that Trinity still have a number of levels to go through, with the Wakefield boss telling media on Thursday that he feels their defence can still improve. That’s scary considering Trin have only conceded 20 points or more on one occasion this season.
Carr and Powell have now locked in their squads for Sunday’s West Yorkshire clash.

Outside back Semi Valemei failed a HIA last week meaning he is ruled out but there’s a like-for-like replacement as loanee Jake Thewlis comes into the squad in the Fijian’s place.
Mikaele Ravalawa was left out of the matchday squad last week due to a leg complaint, Carr confirmed, and the winger is named this week but whether he’s fit to play is another matter.
There are four key returnees though as Liam Hood, Alex Mellor, Joe Stimson and Jack Ashworth come back though Mellor (broken leg) could be pushing it. The aforementioned Valemei drops out as well as Ashton Golding, Jenson Windley and Jimmy Beckett, who has been loaned to Goole Vikings.
Castleford Tigers 21-man squad: Zac Cini, Darnell McIntosh, Mikaele Ravalawa, Daejarn Asi, Tom Weaver, Renouf Atoni, Liam Hood, George Lawler, Jordan Lane, Alex Mellor, Joe Stimson, Brock Greacen, Joe Westerman, Aiden Doolan, Jason Qareqare, Krystian Mapapalangi, Sam Hall, George Hirst, Tom Forber, Jake Thewlis

Daryl Powell confirmed on Thursday that his squad are relatively healthy with his decision to leave out Seth Nikotemo last week a form-based decision, as opposed to injury.
There is one change to the squad though as Mason Lino returns from a hamstring injury with outside back Jayden Myers the man to drop out, with two-try pair Oliver Pratt and Tom Johnstone the obvious candidates to start on the wing.
Powell now has himself a half-back headache with Jack Sinfield having masterfully stepped into the void left by Lino in recent weeks.
Wakefield Trinity 21-man squad: Max Jowitt, Oliver Pratt, Cameron Scott, Corey Hall, Tom Johnstone, Jake Trueman, Mason Lino Mike McMeeken, Tyson Smoothy, Ky Rodwell, Seth Nikotemo, Matty Storton, Jazz Tevaga, Jay Pitts, Caleb Hamlin-Uele, Caius Faatili, Harvey Smith, Isaiah Vagana, Jack Sinfield, Josh Rourke, Tray Lolesio
