Castleford Tigers have confirmed that off-season signing Jack Ashworth has left the club on a month-long loan deal with the former Hull FC man having been out of the team in recent weeks.
Ashworth has been a healthy scratch on a number of occasions in 2026 and with recent pack additions such as Tyler Dupree and Jack Brown, it’s meant he hasn’t had any game time.
As such, the Tigers have opted to send their forward out on loan with Ashworth set to link up with Championship side Doncaster on a month-long loan that will hopefully see him build up fitness so he is ready to challenge for a place at Castleford later in the year.
Ashworth was one of two forwards to join from Hull FC in the off-season with Jordan Lane also joining and whilst Lane has carved out a role in the second-row, Ashworth has played just five times and not since round nine back in April.

Jack Ashworth makes loan move away from Castleford Tigers
Both clubs confirmed Ashworth’s loan move with Castleford Tigers director of rugby Chris Chester explaining the switch.
Chester said: “Fierce competition for places in our pack in recent weeks has meant that Jack hasn’t played for a few games, we felt this loan was a good chance to help Jack to maintain his match fitness at a competitive level so that he can stay sharp and ready to return to our first team when called upon.”
Doncaster head coach Richard Horne added: “Jack is a big and powerful addition to the squad. He carries hard, dominates the contact area and brings real presence on both sides of the ball.
“We’re delighted to have him on loan and look forward to seeing the impact he can make.”
