Castleford Tigers have signed two Super League players with immediate effect in a bid to bolster their playing roster.
Head coach Ryan Carr made it clear after his side’s latest heavy defeat that changes would be coming and that’s proven true with the additions of Tyler Dupree and Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e.
The pair join from Wigan Warriors and Catalans Dragons with Dupree previously out on loan at Toulouse Olympique this season. Both men have penned deals until the end of the 2029 season.
It means the pair have left France and headed to Castleford where they will make an immediate impact with the Tigers’ first game on Thursday night.
Full-back Laulu-Togaga’e offers some immediate relief in that position with Castleford having lost Blake Taaffe and Fletcher Rooney to long-term injuries, whilst Dupree will add power to a pack that has been questioned so far in Super League.
A club statement confirmed both deals, reading: “It’s double-signing delight for the Castleford Tigers, who have today announced the permanent, immediate signings of Tyler Dupree and Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e.”

Castleford Tigers land double signing
Director of Rugby Chris Chester said of the pair: “I’m delighted to get both players over the line.
“Tyler competes hard in everything he does. He is a winner and gives us some much needed power up front in the pack.
“He has represented his country and we are hoping he achieves that again whilst playing at the Castleford Tigers.
“Phoenix is a quality young player who became available late on last week.
“He can play in a number of positions in the back line and we will use him primarily at full-back to cover the loss of Blake Taaffe.
“He’s quick, agile and has great footwork at the line.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing him play in the Black and Amber colours.”
