Castleford Tigers confirm 2027 signing of Super League forward

Castleford Tigers have continued building for 2027 with the West Yorkshire club adding yet another piece to the puzzle with a fresh signing announced.

The Tigers have been one of the most proactive clubs both in season and ahead of 2027 with Castleford having already recruited Ashton Golding, Tyler Dupree, Jack Brown and Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e during the course of the year.

They’ve also announced NRL recruits Damien Cook and Mat Feagai, two players from Ryan Carr’s former club St George Illawarra Dragons, as having signed for 2027.

New deals have been signed by standout backs Jason Qareqare and Krystian Mapapalangi and now another signing for 2027 has been announced ahead of Sunday’s home clash against Super League leaders Leeds Rhinos.

The Tigers have announced the signing of Leigh Leopards prop Robbie Mulhern on a three-year deal in a previously reported deal.

Castleford Tigers confirm latest signing for 2027

Mulhern, a former England international, will add plenty more power to the Castleford pack following the signings of Jack Brown and Tyler Dupree.

The 31-year-old has signed a three-year deal that will keep him at Wheldon Road until the end of the 2029 season, with his experience invaluable.

He’s made almost 300 senior appearances and has been a key player for the Leopards since their return to Super League.

Speaking on his deal, Robbie Mulhern said: “I’m really excited to be joining Castleford. I was impressed after speaking with Ryan and Chezzy about their vision for the club both on and off the field, and it was something that I really wanted to be a part of.

“I’ve spoken to a couple of the boys who are already there, and they’ve spoken really highly about the place and I can’t wait to meet the rest of the team, rip in and earn their respect.

“I know how much this club means to the people of Castleford, and hopefully with everyone pulling in the same direction and working together we can achieve something special.”

Mulhern did add that his focus remains on Leigh, though he won’t feature this weekend in their clash against Hull FC.

“At present though, my full and undivided attention is focused on Leigh and finishing this year as strongly as possible. This club has been my home for the last four years, and I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to everyone involved for making my time here so special.”
