Castleford Tigers have released an injury update regarding several first-team players and have stated when we could see them back on the field.
Whilst Castleford’s injury list isn’t as long as it was earlier in the season, there are still a fair few players awaiting a return, and some of them would be back sooner rather than later.
Starting with young full-back Fletcher Rooney, who has been battling a hamstring issue that required surgery, he is expected to return in approximately three to four weeks.
The Tigers have brought in Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e to fill in at the number one spot, though Rooney’s return will no doubt create some healthy competition.
Winger Mikaele Ravalawa is managing a knee injury and will be monitored on a week-to-week basis. He is set to be out for another two to three weeks.
Joe Westerman has the same timeframe, after the Super League veteran suffered a series of head knocks that required him to remain sidelined for a long-term period.
Hooker Liam Hood, who was incredibly lucky not to break his neck in the win over Wigan Warriors in April, is still recovering from that issue and is projected to return in four to five weeks.
Loose forward George Hill, who spent the first part of 2026 on loan at Keighley Cougars, has an ulnar fracture, and is set to miss the next 10 to 12 weeks before he fully recovers.
The final absentee is star full-back Blake Taaffe, who suffered an ACL injury in the opening game of the season. He remains on track to be fit for the 2027 season, and after being four months into rehab, the performance staff are pleased with the progress he has made so far.
