Castleford Tigers land loan signing as Wigan Warriors man joins club

Castleford Tigers

Castleford Tigers have confirmed the loan signing of Wigan Warriors hooker Tom Forber, who joins on a month-long loan.

Forber, who has seemingly dropped down the pecking order at the Warriors, is in a bid to find high-level game time having only made two Super League appearances in 2026.

Brad O’Neill is by far the club’s first choice nine, but with Kruise Leeming departing the club, it was thought that the 22-year-old would be his replacement, however recent weeks has seen Matt Peet select the likes of Taylor Kerr and Dayon Sambou in the ’14’ bench role.

Joining the Tigers, who only named a 19-man squad this week to face Bradford Bulls, Forber will go straight into Ryan Carr’s side, and could debut as early as this week.

Having been part of Wigan’s 2024 Grand Final winning side, the hooker comes from a winning culture, something that his new club desperately need, having been pumped 72-6 by Warrington Wolves at the weekend.

Forber has experience at Oldham RLFC, Newcastle Thunder, Whitehaven RLFC, Wakefield Trinity, Widnes Vikings and Barrow Raiders and has made 55 appearances in his young career so far.

Wigan hold a recall clause in the month-long deal, however they can only activate that after the first seven days.

Commenting on the loan spell, Wigan boss Peet said: “This is a good opportunity for Tom to get good minutes at Super League intensity and show what he is capable of.”
