Castleford Tigers finally land Hull KR man as weeks of speculation put to rest

After plenty of speculation, Castleford Tigers have now announced the signing of Hull KR prop Jack Brown.

Brown, who played in Saturday’s Challenge Cup defeat to Wigan Warriors, departed the club shortly after that, and after weeks of rumours tipping him to join Castleford, a move has now been confirmed.

The 25-year-old becomes the third mid-season signing in Ryan Carr’s side, following the additions of Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e and Tyler Dupree earlier in the season.

Brown is a 91-time Super League player, with 76 of those coming for Hull FC and 15 coming for the Robins.

Having linked up with the side earlier in the week, Brown will be available for selection when Castleford take on Leigh Leopards on Friday night.

He has inked a two-and-a-half year deal, seeing him contracted to the club until the end of 2028.

Commenting on the move, Castleford’s Director of Rugby, Chris Chester, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Jack to the club.

“He is a player we’ve admired for some time, and we believe he has the character and ability to make a positive impact both on and off the field.

“We’re excited to see him in a Tigers shirt and look forward to working with him.”

Brown also added his thoughts on the switch, saying: “I’m really pleased, obviously the opportunity to come here early came about.

“It’s one I jumped at, and I’m really excited to get started.”
