Castleford Tigers have confirmed the latest addition to their 2026 roster, after bringing in a former Warrington Wolves player to add quality squad depth.
The Tigers, now led by former St George Illawarra assistant Ryan Carr, have made a heap of signings so far, as they look to significantly improve on last year’s efforts.
Adding to that squad is Aidan Doolan, a 22-year-old hooker who has a fair chunk of experience on his CV despite his age.
A Warrington academy product, Doolan never managed to earn a shot at Super League in Primrose and Blue, and at the end of the 2023 season moved to Australia.
Joining South Sydney Rabbitohs for a year, the hooker featured in one pre-season game and a NSW Cup fixture, but never managed to have the desired impact in the Australian reserve grades.
Moving back to the UK in 2025, he originally landed a trial deal with Huddersfield Giants to kick off the year, however injury scuppered his chances there.
He has featured for both Widnes Vikings and Barrow Raiders in the Championship this year, and has impressed the likes of Chris Chester with his efforts.
Able to also play in the halves or at loose forward, Doolan provides a range of depth to the Tigers squad, and does so in some positions much-needed by the West Yorkshire outfit.

Speaking on his new club, Doolan said: “I’m over the moon to have got the deal sorted.
“It’s a huge opportunity for me to really kick on and develop as a player, with good players and coaching staff around me. I can’t wait to get started now for pre-season.
“My personal goals for this upcoming season are to learn and develop as a player. I’m hungry to push on now and try to be in the picture for selection every week.”
Meanwhile Chester, added: “Aiden is a player I have watched over the last 12 months. He’s a good-quality young talent who is still learning his trade. He’s a busy, hard-working nine with a great work ethic.
“Aiden has experienced Super League and the Championship, and also had a stint in the NSW Cup with Souths. He’s looking forward to the challenge of being full-time with Castleford Tigers, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he develops over the next two years under Ryan Carr.”
