Wakefield Trinity man Cameron Scott has revealed he is okay following a nasty injury that saw him stretchered from the field in last night’s game.
Trinity travelled to Leeds Rhinos in a top four Super League clash, but Scott, who was named in the centres, only lasted five minutes before the incident occured.
Leeds had just kicked their first penalty goal of the evening, and in the following set prop Keenan Palasia took the ball in. Scott came off second best in his attempt to stop the Samoan, and he fell straight to the floor.
After a delay of around 10 minutes, with help from both sets of medical staff he was stretchered off the field with both a neck brace and an oxygen mask, in what was some distrestting scenes.
Trinity boss Daryl Powell revealed post-match that his key man was okay, and that initial scans came back positive.
Scott has now posted on social media the latest update, revealing that he is now out of hopsital.
The centre thanked fans for their messages after the incident, and was greatful to have such professional medical staff attending to him.
Obviously, there is currently no time frame for him to return to the field, but Scott said in his message that the injury “puts things into perspective” as to how dangerous the sport can be.
The Wakefield man said, via Instagram: “I appreciate all the messages and well wishes after yesterday. I got discharged at 1am last night with just a severe concussion thankfully.
“I’d also like to thank the medical staff of @wtrinityrl and @leedsrhinos for acting so quickly and professionally in getting me sorted, as players it really doesn’t go unnoticed.
“It does put things into perspective playing this game when these things happen, so again I appreciate all the messages of support and the help I received on and off the field”
