Bradford Bulls can have ‘no complaints’ after their heavy defeat at the hands of Leigh Leopards with head coach Kurt Haggerty left frustrated with the huge number of errors.
The Bulls completed at just 66% in their 38-12 loss to Leigh though their completion percentage for the first half was even lower, at 58%, with the error count topping 15 across the 80 minutes for Bradford.
It was an uncharacteristic performance that ensured Leigh, who were very good in their own right, didn’t have to do much to score points or defend the Bulls’ error-prone attack.
“There’s no complaints from us today,” Haggerty said when speaking post-match on Sky Sports after the loss.
“Leigh were a far better team and they taught us a lesson in completing high and kicking well off the end of it. There are no complaints, I thought Leigh were very good.”
Asked why and what he felt contributed to the performance going so wrong, Haggerty admitted: “I have no idea, I won’t overthink it. We were always going to have these days, that doesn’t mean we’ll accept it but I’m sure we’ll be better for it next week at Catalans.”

Bradford Bulls boss slams huge error count in loss to Leigh
Bradford will have to be far better in next week’s away match against Catalans with errors the biggest thing that the Bulls need to cut down on. When presented with the stats surrounding their completion percentage, Haggerty pointed to how poor his side were when they had the ball in good field position.
He explained: “The thing is we’ve made six line breaks but I think we dropped four of them so they’re not just errors, they’re errors in position we should score tries so that’s part of the frustration.
“I think we made so many errors and the majority were in good ball, which is unlike us, so that’s not great from our side but we’ll get better.”
Despite being a hugely disappointing loss, it isn’t without its excuses as Bradford were without a host of key stars, including star half-back Jayden Nikorima.
When asked if there could be returnees for the game against Catalans, Haggerty said: “I’m hoping so. We spoke as a staff yesterday, we’ve still got nine injuries at the moment and three of them are our spine players or half-backs.
“We’re hoping (Jayden) Nikorima) is back next week. If the game was probably two days later this week Jayden would have played but yeah I’m sure we’ll get a couple next week.”
As for what his side’s season prospects look, he added: “I think I’ll use the old cliche, we just keep going, take it week by week and you never know what can happen in this crazy game but we just need to be better at Catalans next week.”
