Bradford Bulls have confirmed the immediate release of forward Ronan Michael with the 25-year-old expected to sign with a new club.
Michael signed for the Bulls from York Knights ahead of the 2025 season and was integral in the club’s campaign last year, however, he’s found game time hard to come by in 2026.
Bradford’s promotion to Super League saw them overhaul their squad with over 15 new signings and that left several players, including Michael, on the outers of the squad.
So far in 2026, he’s only made appearances for Keighley Cougars whilst on loan with the most recent of those coming in mid-March.
The Bulls have now shared a statement to confirm that the Ireland international has been released from his playing contract and is free to seek a deal elsewhere.
A statement read: “Bradford Bulls can confirm Ronan Michael has been released from the final year of his contract to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
“The 25-year-old joined the Bulls prior to the start of the 2025 season, making 30 appearances and scoring two tries.”

The statement also saw Michael thank Bradford and their supporters, with CEO Jason Hirst also commenting.
Michael said: “I’d like to thank all the Bulls supporters for the support you’ve shown me since day one, it’s been massively appreciated.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent the club and for the memories made along the way.
“I wish my teammates, staff, fans and everyone connected with Bradford Bulls all the very best for the future.”
Hirst added: “After being an integral part of our 2025 Championship season, Ronan has found regular opportunities to play hard to come by since the start of the 2026 Super League season and as a result, we have mutually agreed to release him from the final year of his contract to seek opportunities elsewhere.
“Both personally and on behalf of our club, I would like to thank Ronan for his wholehearted contribution since joining the Bulls prior to the start of the 2025 season and wish him all the best moving forward.”
