Bradford Bulls have recalled a forward from Championship club Halifax Panthers who have since been able to loan in a Leigh Leopards young gun.
Kurt Haggerty has confirmed that he may struggle to name a 21-man squad given the number of players who are suffering from injury and that’s resulted in the club recalling Brandon Douglas from his loan at Halifax Panthers.
Speaking at his presser on Tuesday, Haggerty had hinted at the possibility of recalling Douglas, stating: “We’ve had a good day today and still need to assess so I’m going to sit down with the staff and go through all them possibilities but we may need to recall Duggy (Brandon Douglas) from Halifax, but I’ll know more by the end of today.”
That’s now been confirmed with the forward with Halifax announcing Douglas’ recall with the prop now expected to be named in the Bradford squad to take on Wakefield Trinity this Saturday.
Douglas signed from the Panthers ahead of the 2026 Super League season but he’s found game time hard to come by, in part due to a hand injury, with thus three appearances made so far for the Bulls.

Leigh Leopards young gun secures loan move
Whilst Halifax have lost Brandon Douglas for this weekend’s game against Barrow Raiders, they have been able to add some Super League talent, albeit in a completely different position.
The Panthers have announced the one-week loan addition of Will Brough, son of the legendary Danny Brough, with the young centre in line to debut this weekend.
Brough has only just made his Super League debut with the 19-year-old playing in round seven against Warrington Wolves in what was his first competitive appearance for the Leopards.
He now heads out on loan to Halifax on an initial one-week loan deal with the Panthers set to face Barrow in the sole Championship fixture taking place this weekend, with the majority of clubs in the competition playing in the 1895 Cup instead.
Halifax remain rooted to the foot of the Championship table on account of their 12-point deduction, however, they have won three of their six games in the competition.
