Bradford Bulls have signed assistant coach Lee Greenwood to a new two-year deal, cementing his position at the club after a successful return to Super League.
Greenwood had been at the club before Kurt Haggerty’s appointment, even working as interim head coach at one point, and upon the switch to full-time after the club’s return to Super League, he’s proved invaluable.
That’s seen Bradford act fast to tie down the off-contract coach to a new two-year deal that will keep him at Odsal until the end of the 2028 season, marking over five years since he first joined in 2023.
Greenwood had penned a one-year deal as part of Kurt Haggerty’s coaching staff but that’s now been extended with the assistant set to remain on alongside Carl Forster, who is contracted until the end of the 2027 season.

Bradford Bulls sign Lee Greenwood to new deal
Greenwood, who represented England twice and would coach Dewbsury for three years, has taken on plenty of responsibility in his first year as part of a full-time Bradford Bulls.
He’s stepped in for Kurt Haggerty to address media and in the eyes of Haggerty truly bought into what the ex-Salford assistant is trying to do at the club.
Speaking as part of the club’s media release to announce Greenwood’s deal, Haggerty said: “Lee’s really invested into the style of play that I’ve brought to the club. He’s really flourished in a full-time environment, it’s brought out the best of his coaching and he’s a really good person to have around as well. I think he’s learned a lot in a short space of time and I’m really looking forward to working with him over the next couple of years.
“With it being the first year in Super League for Lee in particular, he’s probably learned a lot of lessons of what coaching elite full-time professionals looks like. I think he’s really learned how to deal with elite players and he’s certainly offered a lot to the group on and off the field.”
Haggerty also praised the stability that re-signing Greenwood will offer Bradford as they head into their second season back in Super League, whilst Greenwood himself noted his delight to be remaining with the Bulls.
He admitted: “I am really pleased to be staying, I wanted to be involved in Super League having been here for a few years in the Championship, I would have been sat at home disappointed watching the team roll out in Super League so I was really pleased to have the opportunity.
“I was having a year out on sabbatical with work but now this is a permanent move, I will be putting everything into making it work as I have this year.”
On the challenges and joys of coaching full-time, he said: “Being full-time, you can look into everything with more detail, your time is very limited when you’re part time so this year has allowed me to concentrate more on my department.
“I concentrate on the backs and edges and you’ve got to unlock defences and defend against Super League players so you have to be on it not only by showing the players but by practicing too. I’ve really enjoyed that element of it and the step up has been great, it has obviously been a challenge but I have really enjoyed it.”
