Bradford Bulls have finally managed to bring in some bodies amid their current injury crisis, and have landed the loan signing of a Leigh Leopards man.
Ben McNamara will join the club on a one-week loan deal, and with the club in dire need of a half-back, it comes as a refreshing change.
Of Bradford’s four halves, Rowan Milnes, Jayden Nikorima, Joe Keyes and Chris Atkin, only Atkin is fit and healthy, so he is expected to partner McNamara in the halves this weekend.
The Bulls travel to Wigan on Saturday afternoon, with Kury Haggerty hoping that McNamara is one of a few loan players the club can potentially bring in this week.
McNamara, whose father is Bradford legend, and future Hull FC boss, Steve, has made 60 Super League appearances in his career so far, and this year has been utilised at hooker and off the bench for Adrian Lam’s side.
Whilst the 24-year-old is expected to play in the halves, he could be an option in that nine position with Andy Ackers missing from Bulls’ line-up in Saturday’s defeat to Hull KR.
Haggerty will name his preliminary squad for that Wigan clash tomorrow [Thursday], and there is scope that more additions could come in prior to that squad announcement.
