Bradford Bulls’ tough run towards the end of the season has got even harder with coach Kurt Haggerty confirming another season-ending injury, and to one of the club’s standout players.
Eribe Doro did not play in the match with Haggerty having revealed mid-week that the forward was set for scans on his calf and unfortunately for Bradford, the results aren’t what they’d hoped to hear.
“Eribe is out for the season. They found two calf tears so Eribe will be out for the season,” the Bulls coach explained to BBC Radio Leeds after his side’s 26-12 loss to Wakefield Trinity.
On the size of that loss, Haggerty was clear: “Massive, absolutely massive. It adds to the (injury) list of 10 or 11. I think I’m down to four to five front-rowers injured so it certainly adds to the list.”

Bradford Bulls ‘walking wounded’ after loss to Wakefield
Another of those prop forwards who is out is Loghan Lewis with the ex-Salford man pulling out in the warm-up after initially being selected to start.
Haggerty revealed: “Loghan’s trained and was okay but then he came to warm up and said ‘I can’t do it’, so we had to pull him.
“It affected everything because we had a plan around the game of starting Joe Mellor on the bench and starting Loghan to try to eradicate their massive pack. Unfortunately, it happens. Loghan is devastated.”
Unfortunately for the Bulls, the injury issues didn’t stop there as Haggerty listed three more blows: “Andy Ackers has potentially hurt his thumb badly, you’ve got Dan Russell who has a really strange and bizarre incident with his eye, of which I’ll know more tomorrow.
“Waqa Blake is on one knee. Guy Armitage is struggling with his abductor and probably shouldn’t have played tonight so we’re walking wounded.”
Heading to face Leeds Rhinos next week at Headingley, the injury crisis could hardly hit at a worse time, especially considering that after the Rhinos, Bradford play Hull KR, Wigan, Warrington and Leigh.
