Bradford Bulls are still looking to add reinforcements to their squad, be that on loan or permanently, and could do so before this week’s game against Huddersfield Giants.
The Bulls are currently down on troops, with a third of their senior squad currently sat on the sidelines.
Of the 30 players that were given squad numbers to start the season, 10 of those are in the medical room, highlighting just how much of an issue injuries have been for Bradford since their return to Super League.
Boss Kurt Haggerty has revealed to the press today [Tuesday] that recruitment is high on the priority list, and are desperately searching for bodies to bring in either prior to this week’s game or in the coming weeks.
“We’re looking, we’re actively looking,” Haggerty said. “I’m probably hoping to know more today and tomorrow, but yes, we are looking.”
Friday’s opponents Huddersfield have announced that Leeds Rhinos trio Presley Cassell, Riley Lumb and Ned McCormack have joined the club on a short-term basis, with Luke Robinson’s side going through an arguably worse injury crisis than the Bulls.
The boss continued: “I totally understand about the Huddersfield situation, bringing bodies in, it’s difficult for everybody at the moment, especially Huddersfield.”
Asked if there is any chance that additions could be brought in prior to Friday, Haggerty said: “Possibly, and if I can name 21, I’d be very, very happy.
“I’ve literally not been off the phone all morning, so I’m hopeful.”
