Latest rugby league news from the lower leagues below Super League as a new signing and a suspension lead the headlines.
Rugby league suspension
Batley Bulldogs forward Dane Manning has been handed an eight-game ban after punching in a game against Bradford Bulls.
Both Manning and Bradford’s Tom Holmes were handed red cards following a huge brawl that derailed the match earlier this month.
Manning was handed a Grade E charge and this evening was given an eight-match ban.
Batley tweeted on Tuesday night: “At this evening’s disciplinary hearing Dane Manning has received an 8 game suspension following the incident in the recent tie against Bradford Bulls.”
Manning’s next offence will also lead to a long rugby league ban if it occurs in the next 12 months due to the disciplinary points he’s accumulated.
Bradford signing confirmed
Bradford Bulls have responded to a heavy defeat against Toulouse by picking up a new signing.
Castleford Tigers player Luke Hooley will link up with the Bulls this week, All Out RL confirmed this evening.
