Wigan Warriors winger Abbas Miski has not played a game since the 2025 Grand Final defeat to Hull KR but that could be about to change this weekend, with the Lebanon international primed for a return.
Miski struggled throughout the 2025 season with a knee issue that meant he ultimately only played 12 games, having played 31 and 26, respectively, in the two seasons before.
The 30-year-old still managed to score 10 tries in his 12 appearances with his record for Wigan standing at an impressive 63 tries in 78 games and he could soon be back on the field to add to that tally after overcoming post-season hamstring surgery.
Miski underwent surgery on a hamstring after the Grand Final and has had an elongated rehab process that’s mean he’s yet to take to the field this season, though that could change on the weekend.
The 30-year-old has been named in Wigan’s reserve squad to face Leigh Leopards tomorrow with Miski one of several faces familiar with first-team action.
Wigan have named recent debutants Josh Cartwright and George Marsden, as well as Tom Forber, Nathan Lowe, Harvey Makin, Lukas Mason, Kian McDermott, Finn McMillan, George O’Loughlan and Jonny Vaughan, all of whom are familiar faces either in the matchday or 21-man squads.
However, all eyes will be on how Miski performs and ultimately if he comes through fit and healthy, particularly with a Challenge Cup Final in a fortnight’s time.
With Liam Marshall still rehabbing a hamstring injury and Dayon Sambou out with a PCL injury, Miski returning could be a major boost although it would be at the expense of young star Noah Hodkinson who was shone in the two games he has played on the wing.
Wigan Warriors reserves take on Leigh at 12:00 pm on Saturday, 16th May, at Robin Park Arena.
