London Broncos and Widnes Vikings won in their respective semi-finals on the weekend to progress to the 1895 Cup Final in late August, however, both teams are still awaiting news of a venue for that game.
Despite the teams and the date for the game being locked in, a venue still has not been confirmed for the cup competition that’s held for clubs in the second tier.
There were doubts over whether the competition would continue this season and though it ultimately survived, the key detail of where the final will be played has yet to be confirmed.
Following this weekend’s semi-finals, a venue is set to be announced this week with Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium a venue that is being talked about, a ground that would likely feel like home advantage for Widnes.

London and Widnes book their spots in 1895 Cup Final
Widnes progressed in Sunday’s semi-final as they beat Rochdale Hornets 52-0 in comfortable fashion at the DCBL Stadium, booking their way to the 1895 Cup Final for the first time since 2019 – the competition’s first year.
London Broncos had won 24 hours earlier with Jason Demetriou’s side fresh off a second-tier record win over North Wales Crusaders and they remained in red hot form as they beat Midlands Hurricanes 62-24.
After scoring five tries against North Wales, Brandon Webster-Manfield added four more to his tally in the win with the Broncos booking their first-ever appearance in the 1895 Cup Final.
A new winner of the competition will be crowned on Monday, August 31st, but as yet, we do not know where that game will take place.
It will be played the day after the final scheduled games of the Championship calendar and Widnes have already taken to social media to confirm that their game against Sheffield Eagles, scheduled for August 30th, will be brought forward to avoid a clash. London are set to play Swinton on that same date so their fixture will also have to be rescheduled.
