Rugby League fans split on 2025 Super League standout but surprise Hull KR player proves popular

Hull KR

We might only be six rounds into the 2025 Super League season but there have been plenty of stand-out performers that rugby league fans have noticed.

Fans from across the game have selected who they think has made the most impact in 2025, with players from Hull KR and Hull FC featuring heavily.

There are also notable mentions for Leigh Leopards and St Helens as well as a Wakefield Trinity forward, despite their start to the season.

Here are some of the best comments from rugby league fans on who they think has been the best player in Super League in 2025 so far

Rugby league fans pick their standout player of 2025 so far

Stephen Cooper: Mikey Lewis for me and credit to Hull KR for being patient with him at a young age when Mikey made his first-team debut in the halves. They backed him and fair play to Tony Smith at the time. It’s a shame other coaches sometimes don’t have faith in their younger players. Give them time give them plenty of first-team opportunities, work with them even when they make mistakes and they too could be pulling on an international jumper too, just like Mikey.

Jim Campbell: As a Rovers fan, it pains me to say Ese’ese but he has been the standout performer so far this season. Really looking forward to feeling the reverberations around the ground when he clashes with JWH in a couple of weeks!

Ade Hodgson: Dean Hadley for me, does loads of unseen work, I liked him at Hull previously.

Corey Hunter-Mitchell: Dean Hadley, most underrated player in the league. Ese’ese and Lewis Martin have also both been fantastic.

Jimmy Mcleod: McMeeken at Wakefield, he’s been awesome.

Callum Thomson: As a Rovers fan, I’d love to say Dean Hadley but you cannot take away from Sezer at FC. Everything they do goes through him and his kicking game is an absolute joke.

Philip Ó Maoileoin: Ethan O’Neill for me, superb signing going under the radar.

Rebecca Edmonds: Pains me to say this as a Rovers fan but if I had to choose another player from a different team, it would have to be Lewis Martin from FC.

Philip Lyon: Harry Roberston.

James Fee: It’s early to call without being biased toward my club KR. Tai looked good the other night for Warrington, Tesi Niu looks like a good player and I like Armstrong at Leigh.

Martin Depledge: Mike McMeeken, a machine.
