Rugby league fans have reacted online following Leigh Leopards’ victory over reigning champions Wigan Warriors on Friday night.
Whilst not necessarily a shock, the Leopards scored eighteen unanswered points in the second half to claim an 18-8 win.
Many rugby league fans took to social media, sharing that it was a great game for the neutrals and fans of both clubs, regardless of whether the result went in their team’s favour or not.
That victory of Leigh takes them to within three points of second-placed Wigan, who now sit four points behind league leaders Hull KR.
It’s also a pair of wins over the Warriors for the Leopards following their 1-0 Golden Point victory that opened the 2025 Super League season.
The loss for Wigan has left many fans thinking that the race for the League Leaders Shield is over for the Warriors, and that Leigh look like they could go all the way to Old Trafford if they keep up their intensity.
