Hull KR star Mikey Lewis has been heavily involved in the action against Wakefield Trinity with the 2024 Man of Steel catching the attention of the fans.
Lewis was tasked with a major responsibility tonight as Hull KR travelled to face Wakefield Trinity with Hull KR missing Tyrone May, meaning that Lewis was asked to play a larger role in the halves.
Centre Peta Hiku shifted alongside him but it was Lewis who orchestrated for the Robins and to nobody’s surprise, it was Lewis who helped make the first Hull KR try.
There was perhaps an element of luck as his deft kick hit the crossbar and bounced back to winger Tom Davies who scored the 100th try of his career, however, Lewis was involved once again for the wrong reasons approaching half time.
After a brilliant drive forward, Lewis refused to go down and that saw him get involved with the tackler as he stood up to play the ball. The reigning Man of Steel appeared to push away at the tackler’s face with referee Jack Smith awarding a penalty to Trinity for Lewis’ actions.
It proved quite pivotal as Hull KR ceded the ball in good territory and Wakefield managed to get down the field and earn a penalty to claw back two points.
Regarding the incident, Sky Sports commentator John Wells said: “There is just something always bubbling beneath the surface with Mikey Lewis.
“If Willie Peters can control that side of Mikey Lewis, he can be a generational talent.”

His actions were up for debate on the Serious About Rugby League Facebook page where we asked if the Man of Steel was lucky to avoid a sin bin.
Here are some of the best reactions which showcase the split in opinion.
David Judson: “Should have been at least a yellow. Loses his cool too easily. A good player but he’s got an attitude problem.”
Gary Lee: “No. He did nothing wrong. The actual tackle and afters by the three Trinity players deserved a penalty the other way.”
Alan Webster: “Been lucky a few times that’s his one weakness in his great player makeup.”
Martin Howarth: “100% lucky (to) stay on pitch.”
Ian Vickers: “Nothing in it.”
Adrian Mannering: “Just a penalty, 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.”
Darren Payne: “absolutely NOT.”
Michele Prince: “Yellow all day.”
