Rugby league agent reveals which Super League club spends the least

The salary cap is often the centre of many debates in rugby league.

Brought in to ensure Super League clubs don’t spend over their limits, it has failed to stop the likes of Bradford Bulls and Wakefield Trinity from going into administration.

At the same, it can restrict those clubs with spending power from effectively doing a Manchester City and buying the league.

Despite the cap sitting there at just over £2 million, however, rugby league agent Craig Harrison of Show Me The Money UK believes one team spends less than any other.

“I would say Wakefield have spent the least in the league,” Harrison said on the Show Me The Money Rugby League podcast.

“Wakefield probably started at the bottom and might end up at the bottom, but it’s a professional game and they’ve got to give it everything.”

For Wakefield Trinity, their 2022 Super League season is not exactly going the best they could have hoped for so far.

With just three wins from their opening 13 games, the West Yorkshire club sit just two points above newly-promoted Toulouse Olympique who beat Trinity a fortnight ago.
