Rovers confirm venue for Valencia friendly

Featherstone Rovers have confirmed their friendly against Valencia Hurancanes will take place at the  El Campo del Pantano.

The stadium, which has a capacity of around 3,000, is based in the town of Villajoyosa. Which is 30 minutes outside of Benidorm. It has also played host to Super League clubs for their warm weather training camps.

This match will form part of Featherstone’s pre-season, as they look to build on last year’s exceptional playoff campaign.

As for the Spaniards, this match will be the perfect test of their ambitions to play in League One soon.

Rovers CEO Davide Longo told the club website: “Featherstone Rovers are delighted to be part of this historic occasion.

“We are very much looking forward to the occasion and our entire first team squad will be travelling to Spain to not only play against Valencia Huracanes but to help them promote and grow rugby league in local schools and communities.”

Huracanes CEO Buchan added:  “We look forward to welcoming everybody to our club launch, especially those from Featherstone Rovers who have already got around 200 fans booked on to the trip.”
